Turquoise

TurquoiseTurquoise—the name of the stone is descriptive of its color—was first mined in the Middle East over 6,000 years ago. It got its lovely name courtesy of geography. Its trade passage to Europe was through Turkey, and turquoise is French for Turkish. It is considered a stone of healing, of good luck, and of friendship.

Spiritual Properties
Its vibration absorbs impurities on all levels. Generally regarded as protective. If you feel the call to be a healer, turquoise may help you develop these abilities. Meditate with a turquoise mala if you are seeking improved health for yourself, a friend, or a loved one.

Physical Properties
Connected to the throat chakra, it will help you develop a strong, clear voice—whether to sing, to chant, to lecture, or to speak out for good causes and against unjust ones.
